Stories For Children

#CBTB539
Author: Donna Smoot
These stories are from the book of Genesis, abbreviated and paraphrased,
when appropriate, to help children to better understand and enjoy the
message while, at the same time, learning about their Israelite
heritage.
Mrs. Smoot has written these stories with children in mind and,
therefore, has tried to leave out those terms that might be
inappropriate for children. She has used several versions of the Bible
with several reference books, and paraphrased, when helpful, to make the
stories easier for children to understand. It is her desire that
"our children know they have a heritage and understand who they
are." She believes they should "...also understand that the
Commandments, Statutes and Judgments are still in effect and are a part
of their lives, as well as the 'new' covenant through Jesus Christ, our
Lord and King."
She has limited this work expressly to the book of Genesis. Beginning
with the story of creation she is careful to separate the creation of
the first humans from that of Adam and Eve, which she believes came much
later, and took place "A little over 6,000 years ago, but many
years after God had first filled the earth with light, darkness, land,
ocean, animals, plants, and humans . . . ". Describing the garden
experience she refers to the "deceitful one" instead of the
"serpent".
The author maintains the heart and spirit of each historical event she
relates but she simplifies each story so that a child will understand
and enjoy the story without being confused or repelled.
Consequently, modern-day, Israelite children are introduced to, and come
to know about, many of the Bible characters of Genesis . . . from Adam
to Noah to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, and at the same time learn the
truth of their Israelite heritage.
If you are interested in a Bible story book for your child (or
grandchild) that is faithful to the Christian Israel message this book
is the answer. Includes drawings by Joshua Chamberlain.

A MODERN-DAY KNIGHT

#CBTB540
Author: Robert Lewis
FROM THE BACK COVER
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE A MAN?
Moreover, how do you as a father instill that notion in your son? By Raising
a Modern-Day Knight.
The medieval custom of knighthood offers a unique approach to shaping a
boy into a man. In those days, lads were trained from an early age,
being equipped with a masculine vision, a code of conduct, and a cause
in which to invest their lives. Ceremonies were held in their honor,
celebrating the boys' progress. Objectives were set, goals achieved, and
along the way, these boys became men.
In much the same way, Raising a Modern-Day Knight will show how
you, too, can confidently guide your son to authentic, biblical manhood.
Complete with illuminating Scriptures, eye-opening illustrations, and the
personal experiences of others, Raising a Modern-Day Knight
provides a clear understanding of mature masculinity -- a vision you can
pursue together with your son! You'll be armed with tools, methods, and
ideas to help you raise him into a chivalrous, godly man. Plus you'll

Lessons
From Nature For Youth

#CBTB588
Author: Unknown
Throughout the centuries, nature has been one of the best and most
effective of God's teachers. This historical reprint of an 1836 original
is based on the principle of Job 12:7, " Ask the animals and they
will teach you and the birds of the air and they will tell you. "
And for years, American education pursued that philosophy. Consequently,
students discovered many admirable traits through their study of nature.
In this reprint youth can learn loyalty from a buffalo, gratitude from a
lion, honesty from a woodpecker, cooperation from beavers, discernment
from a grasshopper and much more!
All ages will enjoy reading and benefiting from these character building

Noah
Webster's Advise to the Young and Moral Catechism

#CBTB542
Author: Noah Webster
This book contains two historical reprints which Founder Noah Webster
wrote to "enlighten the minds of youth in religious and moral
principles and restrain some of the common vices of our country."
FROM THE BACK COVER
Noah Webster was an influential Founding Father, serving as a soldier
during the American Revolution and as a legislator in two states after
the Revolution. He was the first Founding Father to call for a
Constitutional Convention and was personally responsible for the
copyright clause found in Article I, Section 8, of the U.S.
Constitution.
Like most of the Founding Fathers, Webster understood that the ability
of our new government to endure would depend upon the quality of our
educational system. Consequently, he became a leading educator and for
six decades authored textbooks designed to transmit to subsequent
generations the principles embodied in the government he had helped to
create.
Two works he authored to help future generations were his Moral
Catechism (1783), and later his Advice to the Young (1832),
of which he explained:
"The Advise to the Young it is hoped, will be useful in enlightening
the minds of youth in religious and moral principles, and
serve, in a degree, to restrain some of the common vices of our country.
. . . To exterminate our popular vices is a work of far more importance
to the character and happiness of our citizens than any other
improvements in our system of education."
These two powerful works are reprinted in this booklet and are
beneficial not only for America's current students , but for former
students never exposed to these works in their school textbooks.

The
Light And The Glory Children's Activity Book

#CBTB543
Author: Peter J. Marshall & David Manuel Jr.
Designed to introduce young Americans to the role God played in the
founding and growth of this country. His role was well understood by
young Pilgrim and Puritan children; indeed, until this century it was
one of the first things all children learned as part of their national
heritage. But in today's public elementary school system, it is virtually
ignored.
We have included some activities too easy for eight-year-olds and some
too hard for five year-olds. A few ideas in the story line may need a
parents amplification, but all ages should enjoy coloring the pictures.
Throughout we have been guided by the principle that no child is too
young to understand why we sing "God Bless America" and say
"One nation under God" in the Pledge of Allegiance.
Ages 5-8
Reproducible: The original purchaser may photocopy pages from this
book for personal, household, and classroom use (not for resale). Prior
